WashingtonFilmWorks approves funding assistance for multiple productions shooting in the state.

The film industry heats up in Washington State! The feature films "The Details," "The Ward," and "$5 Cover" all approved through the WashingtonFilmWorks incentive program have commenced production in the state.

Tobey Maguire stars with Elizabeth Banks in "The Details," a black comedy about a married couple on the verge of a breakup who are tormented by a family of savage raccoons. A disagreement on how to solve their pest problem sets off a chain reaction of events that includes acts of infidelity, lies and even murder. Additional cast include Ray Liotta, Dennis Haysbert, and Laura Linney as a disgruntled neighbor.

North by Northwest's next project, directed by veteran horror filmmaker John Carpenter, titled "The Ward," has begun production on the east side of the state. Set within the walls of a mental institution the story is about a woman being terrorized by an unrelenting ghost.

No rest for the weary - local filmmaker Lynn Shelton is back at work on her newest project "$5 Cover." Set in the thriving contemporary music scene of Seattle, this musical series invites viewers to tag along with the hottest up-and-coming bands for a wild weekend as they work, sweat, perform, and party in Seattle's clubs, bars, after hours speak easies and crash pads.

In addition to the three feature films "The Details," "The Ward," and "$5 Cover," Anonymous Content just completed principal photography on a recent commercial for Campbell's Chunky Soup.

These projects mark a total of 31 projects approved through the WashingtonFilmWorks program since inception in 2007 adding an estimated $34.4M in economic impact to the state.
